Rocket Park

The 20 acre Piñon Park in White Rock is also called Rocket Park. The park use to have a much larger "rocket" you could climb up to the nose cone and slide down. Deemed unsafe, it was taken down and this is the only rocket left. [Note: The park sign should read Piñon Park; pronounced Pinion, NOT Pin-on]. A pet peeve of mine.]

  2. How did we ever make it through our childhoods with all those unsafe things?? The things we did back then would be banned now. I still miss lawn darts.
That looks like a cool place to explore!

  3. Didnt the rocket in this photo used to be on the ground so we could climb it and slide down inside the body?
